Dearest Mary,
No mail today, I should get some tomorrow or the next day. I just finished writing a letter to
Bob. He has been writing to me quite often lately. I have two more letters to write then I will be caughtup - one to Neel and one to Irsy Engleman. Irsy is a Sgt now. I was sure surprised when I read that. Some
people get all the breaks!
I’m going for a swim soon as I finish this letter. The cool water sure feels good.
Thanks for sending me the basketball scores. I see Frankton was defeated in the first game. Do
you think Anderson will win the State this year?
The rations this month cost about 20 rupees - a little over $6.00. I still have six cans of beer left, I
think I will drink that tonight after I get off duty. (about 9:00) I tried to get a wristwatch this month but
wasn’t lucky enough to get one. They get a few every month and they are raffled off.
How does Diana like the table Minnie and Willard gave her? I’m not a very good artist but I will
draw some pictures for Diana when I come home.
I love you very much, darling.
Your husband,
Earl
