Mary Dearest,
I got two letters from you today, the pocket dictionary was in one and writing paper in the
other. I was a little disappointed when I found not word from you in either of them. I looked at the dates
and found that I had received a letter from you on March 6. Thanks for the dictionary and writing paper,
I can use both of them, especially the dictionary.
We had a good dinner today - steak and onions, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pears for dessert.
We have had steak two times this week, that’s something unusual!
I went to the movie last night - “Guest in the House” Ann Baxter and Ralph Bellomy were the
leading actors. I didn’t like the story very well it was too fantastic.
Boy, are the bugs and flys bad over here, you can’t even rest during the day unless you put your
mosquito net down. I have not seen very many mosquitos. I don’t think they will be very bad until the
monsoons start.
I’m going to write Neel a letter tonight; I have received two from him in the last week.
I will stop for now, honey.
I love you with all my heart.
Your husband,
Earl
