Burma
I’m a little late in writing you tonight. Special Service put on a stage show for us tonight, so I
thought I would wait until after the show to write to you. The show was pretty good, six G.I.’s dressed
up as girls danced and etc; they had a small band that was pretty good, also some singers.
No mail came in today. I should get some tomorrow or the next day. I hope I don’t go five days
without getting any mail like I did last week. Sometimes mail comes pretty fast and some times it takes
several weeks. Do you get mail more than once a week? I usually average two times a week.
You can send me some more writing paper. I have plenty of envelopes. I can’t buy any writing
paper anywhere, we very seldom get any in our rations either. I like this paper so maybe you can send
some more of it. Its much better to carry too.
I wish you wouldn’t use V-mails honey, although if you think it best there is nothing I can do. Its
OK to be patriotic but please don’t use them unless you absolutely have to. I know that you don’t like
them so I never use them unless I don’t have anything else.
There is a movie after the stage show tonight but I’m too sleepy to go, probably wont miss much
anyway.
It’s 10:00 PM so I must get to bed.
I love you more than ever, Mary
Yours forever,
Earl
