"Sherry Bright posted a memory of the barn that once stood at the corner of 1700. It isn’t typical for there to be an old barn without a house close by. I am curious if anyone knows the history of the barn."
"The Star Press (Muncie) paper dated Nov 19, 1907 Summitville, Ind., Nov. 18 - At the end of Walnut Street in Summitville stands a type of old log cabin fast disappearing in the country. A sight few visitors ever fail to have pointed out to them. It is the Stanley homestead and has stood here as far back as the oldest inhabitant can remember. The old log cabin is occupied by “Grandma” Almira Stanley, who is far into the seventies. The old lady has a habit of leaving the front door open the year round and the lamplight shining through the door is the guiding star of belated night travelers.” Somewhere I read that the cabin had burned down."
