Dearest Mary,
I got three letters from you today - one letter and two v-mails. They were dated Jan 5,6, and 7th.
I see that you finally got some mail. My mail arrives in bunches too honey. I don’t suppose I will get any
for two or three days now.
I didn’t do very much today, I washed my hair and shaved. I started reading a mystery, “The
Maltese Falcon,” its pretty good, I’m going to finish it soon as I get off duty. Do read many books? I know
how you used to like to read, and wondered if you still do. I saw the show made of this book and it was
pretty good. The show I saw last night was “Half Moon St.” It was pretty good but I didn’t know any of
the actors.
Thanks for sending me a birthday box, I hope I get it before the 25th.
I love you, Mary.
Your husband,
Earl
