Mary Dearest,

Today was my lucky day, I got eight letters. One of them was from Ray and the rest were from

you. They were all v-mails but I enjoyed reading them even if they are short. Two of them were wrote

Jan 4, three Jan 8, and one the 9 & 10th.

You must have had a good time at Mrs. Harry Blakes shower, I’ll bet it seemed good to meet

some of your old school pals again. I don’t believe I know the Hester girl; too bad about her husband

being missing in action. I suppose you had some good food; although you didn’t mention anything

except cake. How did Diana like it?

Thanks for sending I. Engleman’s address, I will write to him tomorrow. He is sure lucky to stay

in the States all this time. The last time I heard from him was when we were in Fresno; looks like he will

be there for the duration. Is his wife staying with him?

I thought I told you about voting; maybe I didn’t. The ballots were sent to us, mine was from the

county clerks office - C.C. Horrald.

I have received about all of my Xmas boxes honey, I enjoyed getting them even if they were a

little late, mine were not the only ones that were late, I still haven’t received Ray’s yet. He told me in

todays letter that he and Anita sent me one.

I’m glad you finally got some mail. It was wonderful to get all the letters today. I have about five

letters to write but I’m not going to write them all tonight.

I never heard of the Riggs fellow you mentioned in your letter, he could be anywhere over here.

Yes, our supplies arrive the same way as his.
